Tis the new turbo charged 4 cylinder Boxster. The base model makes 300hp from a 2.0 liter turbo flat 4 and the S makes 350hp from a 2.5 liter flat 4; not sure about this one... :-/

I don’t think the styling will hold up well, especially with the angry face.

LOL! Yeah I’m not too happy about this one. I absolutely LOVE the 981 gen cars; driven the Cayman GTS as well as the Boxster GTS and they are honestly the best cars I’ve ever driven; large in part from the amazing noise from its naturally aspirated flat 6.

One thing that could liken me to the new face are the headlights - I love those “four post” headlights.

I loved how the tail lights were like that in a unique way. not anymore I guess, it’s all just trademark “German”

Love the front, don’t love the back. I’m more hopeful that used Boxster/Cayman prices drop as a result.

981 is possibly one of the most sublime new cars in quite a while, and the pinnacle of the modern mid-engined Porsches.

I am sad to see the flat-6 go, and if i get my Porsche some day, I might pick a 981 over a 718 for that single criteria.

However, on the styling, I kinda like the very subtle changes. I could give or take the front fascia, and the 718 Boxster Spyder will probably get the best one, if/when it comes.

I like that the headlight lenses are smoother and less bulbous. I also kind of like the smoked tail lights and horizontal trim under the spoiler, although without it being red, it kind of kiboshes my red fender spear graphics theme. (but red full width tail lights has become an AWD Carrera 4/4S thing...)

The cars will probably be slightly lighter, torquier, faster, and in many ways incrementally better.

But an atmo-flat-6 sings such a sweet, inherently balanced and narrow-firing-order song... like a V12's little sister.
